Blood Brothers features tall, upright blades that start green in spring and summer before transitioning to a vibrant red or burgundy in the fall. It produces airy, pink-tingled flower panicles in late summer that float above the foliage. It thrives in full sun and is adaptable to a wide range of soil types, including clay and sandy soils, as long as they're well-drained. Adds dramatic height and color to the landscape. Commonly used in naturalistic plantings, prairie gardens or accent in mixed borders. Once established, switchgrass is quite drought tolerant. It can be cut back in early spring before new growth begins to keep it looking tidy and encourage more growth. Attracts bees and butterflies. Deer resistant.
