Noted for its striking foliage, this large deciduous shrub or small tree gets covered profusely with small round, rosy-pink flowers that arrive before the foliage in spring. These happy blossoms are on display for several weeks before being joined by broadly heart-shaped, shimmering red-purple leaves. Foliage turns orange, bronze and re-purple in fall.
