Mountain Mint has fragrant, lance-shaped green leaves that are densly packed along the stems. Blooming from mid-summer to early fall, small, pale pink to white flowers cluster at the top of the stems. And, when crushed, the leaves emit a strong minty fragrance. These plants are adaptable to a wide range of soil types but thrive in well-drained moist soils. Full sun encourages more vigorous flowers and compact growth. Works well in pollinator gardens, borders or for herbal applications. Mountain Mint is not a vigorous spreader and is not invasive - rhizomes do spread about 4–6" per year, but they can be simply cut with a garden spade and the shallow stems are easily extracted. Attracts bees and butterflies. Deer resistant.
