Praying Hands features narrow, upright leaves that resemble hands folded in prayer. The leaves are dark green with heavily rippled edges and a thin cream to white outline. Like most Hostas, it prefers well-drained soil in partial to full shade. It's perfect under tree canopies or north-facing gardens. During late summer, it produces tall spikes of lavender flowers. Very drought tolerant once established. It's good to remove dead foliage in fall or early spring and a balanced slow-release fertilizer applied in spring can support healthy growth. Attracts bees and butterlies when in bloom.
