Superba has upright stems that support dense clusters of deep violet, bell-shaped flowers in early to mid-summer. The foliage is dark green with lance-shaped leaves that form a low mound at the base. It thives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Often planted in perennial borders and pollinator gardens, it's also for cut flower arrangements, adding a pop of colour. Deadheading spent flowers can encourage a longer blooming period. Attracts bees and butterflies.
